PRINCIPAL
Mrs. Minakshi Ghosh is the founder and principal of Kishalaya School. She is a well-qualified and passionate individual; a college graduate with many dreams and a wide range of talents. These include poetry, recitation, anchoring, stage dramas etc. On the topic of her recitation talent; she is not only recognized for this in her home country, but in a few states in the USA as well. She was a student of some famous Bengali reciters; who are recognized both nationally and internationally. She travels to many different places in North Bengal, as well as Kolkata, to perform recitation and/or anchoring for various cultural ceremonies. She has always been a natural-born performer, wise beyond her years.
However, since day one, her life has never been a smooth journey. She is constantly faced with growing obstacles, obstructions and challenges when it comes to running her school smoothly. However, she still took a stand, letting her determination to serve the society remain strong. She continues to try her best to keep the school prospering; no matter how hostile the situation is; because she does not want the lives of the little children at Kishalaya to be affected. She understands that they are our next generation, they are precious and their value in society is priceless.
She is known for bringing people together; being a very lively and cheerful person. Her biggest personal achievements are when her students find success for themselves. She feels as though she has gained something when her students love her from deep in their hearts. She believes that today is the most important thing, because tomorrow is never promised. That is why she puts all her energy into Kishalaya today. While she may not be around in the future, Kishalaya will continue to maintain its pride and dignity to serve the society. She hopes to be remembered throughout the society for her service, recitation and anchoring abilities; as well as her unconditional love towards her students. Her memory will stay alive in the hearts of the students who love her.
Since a very young age, Mrs. Minakshi Ghosh has always dreamed of making a difference not just locally, but globally too. She started Kishalaya School to lay the foundations for her vision, and the school has gone on to become one of the city’s prime institutions. Our principal cares for and loves Kishalaya School as a second child. She is Montessori-trained, and has held her role as principal in Kishalaya for more than 30 years.
She has always been independent, but also knows how to work as a team to make change happen. She believes that there is great potential in life to make a great impact in society; and that we should leave a positive footprint to build our society in a constructive, powerful way. That’s why she is so grateful to each of the educators she invites to join the Kishalaya team, who work together to keep the Kishalaya dream alive.
However, our principal’s hard work does not stop there. She also owns and runs an institution named “Srijoni”; a place where she personally teaches recitation to an average of 50 students. Her students at Srijoni comprise children, adults and teenagers. She started Kishalaya School with just 10 children, but she has gone on to turn it into a thriving institution with thousands of students walking in and out of its door over the past 30 years.
Mrs. Minakshi Ghosh prides herself on hiring staff members who share the same vision as her; to help children make the move from family-care to teacher-care smoothly. She believes in providing an institution that both high-income families and low-income families can afford without compromising the quality of the education system. Each one of her students is treated with the love, care and attention. She loves her students and ex-students very much.
